OSHA Certified Trainings
At Balestrieri, training is a critical extension of our commitment to safety, compliance, and long-term client success. Hazardous materials are often encountered unexpectedly in facilities, and without the proper knowledge, even routine tasks can introduce risk to workers, occupants, and the environment. That’s why we provide comprehensive training programs designed not only to meet regulatory requirements, but to equip individuals with practical, real-world understanding they can apply on the job.
Our training programs are developed and led by experienced, certified professionals who understand the challenges faced by facility managers, maintenance personnel, and tradespeople. Whether onboarding new employees or providing continuing education for experienced teams, our goal is to help clients build safer work environments, reduce liability, and respond confidently when hazardous conditions are identified.
2-Hour Asbestos Awareness
Balestrieri is frequently called upon to provide 2-Hour Asbestos Awareness Training for clients across a variety of industries. This course is designed to help maintenance staff, facility personnel, and contractors recognize asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) and understand the risks associated with disturbing them.
Participants learn how to identify common locations where asbestos may be present, how to avoid accidental disturbance, and the correct procedures to follow in compliance with OSHA Standards 29 CFR 1926 and 1910. Real-world examples and scenarios are used to reinforce learning and ensure participants understand how to apply this knowledge in their daily responsibilities.
2-Hour Lead in Construction Awareness
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the hazards associated with lead exposure in construction and maintenance environments. Participants gain a clear understanding of where lead-based materials are typically found, including paints, coatings, and building components in older structures.
The training covers health effects, exposure pathways, and practical precautions workers can take when working in areas where lead may be present. Participants are also instructed on when conditions require certified abatement professionals and how to properly escalate concerns.
2-Hour Mold Awareness
The 2-Hour Mold Awareness course focuses on identifying, preventing, and responding to mold issues in indoor environments. Participants learn about the conditions that contribute to mold growth, including moisture intrusion, poor ventilation, and water damage.
The course provides guidance on recognizing visible and hidden mold, understanding potential health impacts, and following proper procedures when mold is encountered. It also outlines when a situation exceeds basic cleaning and requires professional remediation services.
16-Hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
The 16-Hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance (O&M) course provides in-depth, hands-on training for employees who may work around or directly with asbestos-containing materials as part of their job duties.
This course is ideal for:
• Facility and plant managers
• Maintenance and custodial staff
• Outside housekeeping services
• Trade contractors (construction crews, electricians, plumbers, HVAC and utility workers)
Participants receive detailed instruction on safe work practices, regulatory requirements, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and procedures for minor disturbance and repair activities involving asbestos. The course also covers containment methods, decontamination procedures, and waste handling protocols.
Successful completion qualifies individuals to perform work under OSHA Class II, III, and IV asbestos operations when supervised by a trained and certified competent person. This training is essential not only for those working directly with asbestos, but also for those who may encounter it during routine maintenance or construction activities.
4-Hour Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Refresher
To maintain certification and stay current with regulations and best practices, individuals who have completed the 16-Hour O&M course are required to take an annual refresher.
This 4-hour course reinforces key concepts from the initial training, including safe work practices, regulatory updates, and proper handling procedures. It also provides an opportunity to review recent case studies, address common field challenges, and ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.
