In June 2024, after serving the community for 30 years, the Incredi-Roll Skate & Family Fun Center closed its doors for the final time. The property was cleared to make way for a new car wash facility. Balestrieri played a key role in the deconstruction of the former Incredi-Roll facility, offering a comprehensive suite of services to ensure a safe and efficient project. Balestrieri removed the asbestos containing transite shingles on the outside of the building, carefully removed hazardous materials throughout the building, and ultimately performed demolition on the entire structure.
During the demolition, Balestrieri encountered unexpected challenges beneath the surface of the structure. The footings under the foundation were much larger than initially anticipated, with some sections measuring 5 feet by 5 feet. This required Balestrieri to employ larger-than-expected equipment for the excavation.
Due to the size and complexity of the footings, Balestrieri brought in a specialized jackhammer to safely break them down for removal. This solution was necessary to ensure the foundation was fully cleared for future development without causing delays.
In line with Balestrieri’s commitment to minimize waste, leftover materials from the demolition, including metal roof components, were carefully sorted and recycled at a certified facility. This practice not only reduced the amount of waste sent to landfills but also helped minimize the environmental impact of the project.
Despite the unexpected challenges with the foundation, Balestrieri successfully completed the demolition of the Incredi-Roll Skate & Family Fun Center on schedule, preparing the site for new development. The team’s dedication to safety, sustainability, and efficiency contributed to a smooth transition, ensuring the space is now ready for the construction of a new car wash that will serve the community for years to come.
