Caterpillar Campus
It is no coincidence the Wisconsin seal and state flag portray the state’s rich mining history. Even its nickname, “The Badger State,” was coined in honor of the miners that would use temporary hillside caves as their homes. This is why, in 1883, Bucyrus International chose Southern Milwaukee as the designated area to begin their mining equipment manufacturing empire.
Recognizing the importance of supplying quality mining equipment, Caterpillar purchased Bucyrus in 2011 in hopes of expanding the reach of the Milwaukee Headquarters. Balestrieri was entrusted with restoring the character of the facility while creating a more efficient campus.
