Carthage College
Constructed in 1962, the David A. Straz Jr. center for natural and social sciences was the first academic structure built on the college’s Kenosha campus. Recent increasing enrollment rates caused a need for renovation and further expansion of the facility. In early 2014, Carthage embarked on the new 35,000 square-foot wing to provide students and staff with the amenities necessary to accommodate their growing community.
To help bring new life to the campus, Balestrieri’s knowledgeable team was brought in to carefully remove asbestos containing materials while working to ensure the safety of other trades contributing to the major overhaul of the building, as well as perform selective interior demolition to keep the project going.
